Muhammad Dattijo Usman (Ubandoman Minna) was born on 17 July 1957 in Minna, Niger State, Nigeria. His education took him from LEA Primary School, Kuta and Government Secondary School, Minna to the College of Education, Sokoto, Bayero University, Kano, and later the University of Abuja.

Education

His formal education began at LEA Primary School, Kuta, where he studied from 1963 to 1969 and obtained the First School Leaving Certificate. He continued at Government Secondary School, Minna from 1970 to 1974, obtaining the West African School Certificate.

Early career

His early professional experience included library work at Ahmadu Bello University, national service in Rivers State, and teaching appointments in Niger State.

Higher education administration

After serving at Federal Polytechnic, Bida from 1987 to 1991, he joined the Federal University of Technology, Minna. His responsibilities there included information and publications, general administration and establishment functions. He served as Acting Registrar from 2003 to 2007 and Registrar from 2007 to 2012.

Academic and professional service

He later served as Senior Lecturer in Mass Communication at Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai. His professional involvement has included public relations, university administration and management bodies, alongside institutional and community service.

Writing and scholarship

His surviving record includes poetry, academic research, essays, lectures and presentations extending from the early 1980s onward. Published poems documented in his records include Plight Sunshine, Lonesome and Hawkish Advances.
